Hindu dharma is implicitly at odds with monotheistic intolerance. What is happening in India is a new historical awakening... Indian intellectuals, who want to be secure in their liberal beliefs, may not understand what is going on. But every other Indian knows precisely what is happening: deep down he knows that a larger response is emerging even if at times this response appears in his eyes to be threatening.

Kashmir's Pandits accuse Election Commission of discrimination against them

New Delhi, May 4 (ANI): Kashmir's Pandits staged a silent protest here, saying their names were struck off from the voters' list.

Most of Kashmiri Pandits live in Jammu, and the rest who fled the region reside mostly in New Delhi and other cities across the country. Only about 3,000 still reside in the Kashmir valley.

The number of Kashmiri Pandits on the voters' list has dropped from nearly 150,000 in 1996 to just 71,000 during the ongoing parliament polls.

Angry Pandits accused the independent Election Commission of discriminating against them.

Right to vote is the biggest asset in democracy, which the Election Commission of India is depriving us of. Our voting strength has been reduced from two hundred thousand to seventy thousand. Imagine the condition of Narendra Modi in Gujarat if 70,000 Muslim voters were removed from the voters list, but since it is a Hindu issue, therefore nobody is speaking, said Prashnik Kher, a protestor.

According to the National Human Rights Commission, about 300,000 Kashmiri Pandits have been forced to leave Kashmir. But Kashmiri groups peg the number of migrants closer to 500,000. (ANI)

Election commission process to include our names in the electoral roll is poor in our country, i got an voter id, but my name is not in the electoral list. the process should be made easier like how we are getting a driving license after we attain 18, or like how we registering in the employment exchange.

A very large amount of Hindu money is going to government coffers and through them to others to the detriment of Hindus, and Hindu temples. That is a clear case of discrimination on the basis of religion, and partisan policies of the government at the Center and Congress-ruled states. This is wrong, and a violation of constitutional norms. This is blatantly unfair policy towards Hindus. And this is arbitrary, to say the least.

-- Indian Governments Hard on Hindus, Their Temples, Soft on All Others

While the Congress Party under Nehru and Indira Gandhi were committed to the philosophy of de-Hinduising the nation and de-nationalising the Hindus, several NGOs backed by global forces of Christianity and Islam and several Western powers like Britain and USA entrenched themselves in India after 1955. Later, the Communist Parties of India came to realise the significance of the role of NGOs in modifying or altering the basic structures and contours of our polity and consequently several NGOs wedded to the philosophy of Marxism on paper also joined the fray in this game of de-Hinduisation of India and de-nationalisation of the Hindus.
