Pseudo-Secularism

Hindu dharma is implicitly at odds with monotheistic intolerance. What is happening in India is a new historical awakening... Indian intellectuals, who want to be secure in their liberal beliefs, may not understand what is going on. But every other Indian knows precisely what is happening: deep down he knows that a larger response is emerging even if at times this response appears in his eyes to be threatening.

VHP expresses concern over infiltration and conversion

The twin menace of infiltration and conversion is posing serious threat to the security and integrity of Assam as well as the whole country. Unless immediate steps are not taken by the Government of Assam, it would take turn worse, said Shri Mohan Joshi, central secretary of VHP at a press meet held in the premises of VHP office in Silchar on July 14. He said infiltration from Bangladesh continues unchecked, upsetting the demographic structure of the state. Along with infiltration in the hills and plains of Assam, conversion among tea Vanvasis and Vanvasis in particular was going on. In order to check infiltration, it is still time to strengthen the border management. On the question of proselytisation, he favoured enactment of law by the Government of Assam on the pattern of Gujarat. He also expressed his anxiety at the problem of infiltration in Barak Valley and the reported use of this corridor by extremists and jihadi elements. Shri Joshi came down heavily on both the Central and State Governments for neglecting the interest of Hindus and pursuing policy of appeasement towards the minorities. He pointed out that 525 Ekal Vidyalays have come up in the state and more are on the agenda with resources generated by VHP on its own.
