Pseudo-Secularism

Hindu dharma is implicitly at odds with monotheistic intolerance. What is happening in India is a new historical awakening... Indian intellectuals, who want to be secure in their liberal beliefs, may not understand what is going on. But every other Indian knows precisely what is happening: deep down he knows that a larger response is emerging even if at times this response appears in his eyes to be threatening.

Prevention of conversion; Protection of demographic balance should be our priority

National convention of VHP’s Dharma Prasar Vibhag
— Mohan Bhagwat

"All the faiths originated in India are based on truth. Welfare of the whole mankind has been their sole objective. There has been no insistence on way of worship in Bharat whereas Islam and Christianity always insisted that only their ways of worship are right and all others are wrong. These ways of worships, developed outside India, have been shedding blood in the name of propagating ‘love and peace’ and also have been converting people to their faith by fraudulent means. They do not believe in unity in diversity but in uniformity. The financial fundamentalism of America, religious fundamentalism of Islam and Christianity and political fundamentalism of Marx are terrorising the whole world today,” said Shri Mohan Bhagwat, RSS Sarkaryavah while inaugurating the national convention of VHP’s Dharma Prasar Vibhag in Nagpur on March 7.

Shri Bhagwat further said the prevention of conversion and homecoming of the converts is must for the protection of Indian culture and dharma, as our nation has suffered the most due to conversion in the past. He described it as a major challenge for the Hindu society. He said the generations of Hindus, who have been converted forcibly in the past, must be brought back to the mainstream and it is must for the unity and integrity of the country. “We need to develop an effective force for this task. There should be an active team of workers at all places to exclusively fight against this menace. The cooperation of all religious and social organisations of the Hindu society should also be sought to move forward this work,” he said.

Dr Milind Jivane, noted Buddhist scholar, while presiding over the inaugural ceremony, said granting reservations and other facilities in the name of religion is dangerous for the whole country. He said Buddhists have become minority in Laddakh due to conversion and the growing Islamic activities near the border areas have posed a major security threat to the country.

Shri Mohan Joshi, central secretary of VHP, described the conversion as one of the major problems of the world. He said the economic and political forces of the world are trying to terrorise the Hindus and Buddhists world over. Dr Pravin Togadia, general secretary of VHP, said all the wings of the VHP must cooperate in the task of dharma prasar with their full might. He suggested formulating an action plan to combat conversion. Shri Dharmanarayan Sharma, central secretary of VHP, also spoke on the occasion.
