Incidents like serial blasts started after BJP rathyatra: Cong
NEW DELHI, JULY 28 (PTI)
Congress today hit out at the BJP in the wake of the serial blasts in Bangalore and Ahmedabad, alleging that such incidents have started only after senior BJP leader L K Advani's 'rathyatra' and "communal campaign".
AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh said the timing of the blasts was "uncanny" and claimed that such incidents have always benefitted the saffron party. However, he added that he was not levelling any charge against anyone.
Alleging that the VHP and Sangh Parivar have always believed in "dividing" the Hindus and the Muslims, he claimed that the blasts at Hubli during the Karnataka Assembly elections had benefitted the saffron party.
He also alleged that incidents like the serial blasts in Bangalore and Ahmedabad have started only after Advani's 'rathyatra' and "communal campaign".
On the Ram Setu issue, he said the Congress has respect for all religions and would not like to "interfere" in them. He said it was for the government of India to decide the usefulness and viability of the project.
