VHP criticised LDF's muslim appeasement policy
Kochi, July 31 (PTI): The Vishwa Hindu Parishad today described the Kerala Government's decision to provide scholarship to muslim girl students and pension to madrassa teachers as a measure to "appease" the community.
In a statement here, the VHP's Kerala unit said this would create 'dangerous consequences in the society.'
The LDF government had yesterday announced various welfare schemes, including pension for madrassa teachers and scholarship for students. The decision was based on recommendations of the committee headed by State Local Administration Minister Paloli Muhammed which submitted state oriented programmes for the welfare and development of muslim community after studying the Sachar committee report.
In the name of Sachar and Paloli committees, lot of benefits were being doled out to a particular community, only for some political gains, VHP alleged.
