Pseudo-Secularism

Hindu dharma is implicitly at odds with monotheistic intolerance. What is happening in India is a new historical awakening... Indian intellectuals, who want to be secure in their liberal beliefs, may not understand what is going on. But every other Indian knows precisely what is happening: deep down he knows that a larger response is emerging even if at times this response appears in his eyes to be threatening.

Hindu bashing would boomerang on Congress: BJP

New Delhi, Nov 17 : Just a day after 'sants' from across the country cautioned the government against 'Hindu bashing', it was BJP's turn today to blow the same trumpet with a warning that unnecessary witchhunting would boomerang on it while causing great damage to India's image.

Addressing mediapersons party's chief ministerial candidate for Delhi V K Malhotra said it was gross misrepresentation of facts that the government was elucidating 'grotesque theories' without coming out with any proof against its new found 'Hindu terror' theory.

''Even after numerous narco and brain mapping tests they have been unable to come out with a single proof that could nail the 'sadhvi' till date,'' Mr Malhotra said.

Pointing that the ATS of Maharashtra police was working under pressure to cook stories to defame the Hindus, in order to balance the 'only Muslims' theory linked to terror activities, Mr Malhotra said the Congress was playing the 'vote bank' politics to the gallery.

''It was wrong to blame all Muslims for terrorism but unnecessary 'Hindu bashing' for political gains was certainly not in national interest,'' he maintained.

The move was to divert people's attention from ''real culprits'' and would not only encourage those involved in such acts but also shield the real perpetrators of terror, he said.

Stressing that the BJP was against providing any support to those involved in terror activities, Mr Malhotra said his party was standing behind the 'sadhvi' because the government has till date failed to provide any supporting evidence to back its claim of her involvement in any terror module.

''The Anti-Terror Squad was working under a planned conspiracy to defame the Hindus and 'saints'.'' Claiming that no Hindu could be a terrorist, as they were ''not wired that way genetically'', the BJP leader said though exceptions might be there but terror was not in their character.
