Pseudo-Secularism

Hindu dharma is implicitly at odds with monotheistic intolerance. What is happening in India is a new historical awakening... Indian intellectuals, who want to be secure in their liberal beliefs, may not understand what is going on. But every other Indian knows precisely what is happening: deep down he knows that a larger response is emerging even if at times this response appears in his eyes to be threatening.

Violation of Hindu Human Rights

Demonstration at Malaysian High Commission in New Delhi.

Federation of Human Rights of India (FHROI) staged a massive demonstration outside the Malaysian High Commission in New Delhi recently. The FHROI leaders condemned the action of the Malaysian Government and demanded to lift the ban imposed on HINDRAF leaders and protection of the human rights of Hindus. They also demanded to withdraw all criminal cases against leaders of HINDRAF and their unconditional release.

More than 200 protestors representing various human rights and socio-religious organisations including Supreme Court Lawyers Association, Human Rights Defence (India), Progressive Teachers Front (Delhi University), Bharat Guarav Sansthan and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) gathered at Teen Murti Bhawan. The protestors were carrying placards shouting slogans like; Lift ban on HINDRAF, Stop Talibnisation of Malaysia, Release five lawyers of HINDRAF, Ensure equal rights for religious minorities in Malaysia, etc.

Later, a delegation led by Shri Rajesh Gogna, convener of FHROI, presented a memorandum to Deputy High Commissioner of Malaysia. Shri BK Sharma, president FHROI, Shri Champat Rai and Shri Satender Kumar of VHP and Shri Ashok Kawaria of Image India Foundation were also in the delegation. The Deputy High Commissioner assured the protestors that they would convey the feelings of the protestors to Prime Minister of Malaysia.

Later, talking to Organiser Shri Rajesh Gogna said since independence of Malaysia in 1957, the people of Indian origin (ethnic Tamils) are being systematically marginalised and sidelined by the Government there. In all the national development programmes, no affirmative action or programme has been designed or implemented with a view to uplift the living standards of the Indians and taking them out of poverty. With a view to ventilate their grievances, people of Indian origin organised themselves and formed an organisation called HINDRAF.

HINDRAF or Hindu Rights Action Force is an organisation committed to peaceful struggle in the pursuit of justice for the poor and underclass Malaysian Indians. It is a coalition of 30 Hindu non-governmental organisations committed to the preservation of Hindu community rights and heritage in secular Malaysia.
