Pseudo-Secularism

Hindu dharma is implicitly at odds with monotheistic intolerance. What is happening in India is a new historical awakening... Indian intellectuals, who want to be secure in their liberal beliefs, may not understand what is going on. But every other Indian knows precisely what is happening: deep down he knows that a larger response is emerging even if at times this response appears in his eyes to be threatening.

The separatists in Kashmir and their "secular" supporters are trying to spread the myth that the Amaranth Yatra is of a recent origin

AMARANTH YATRA HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR CENTURIES;
AND IS NOT 150 YEAR AFFAIR

HISTORY OF THE AMARNATH PILGRIMAGE

The separatists in Kashmir and their “secular” supporters are trying to spread the myth that the Amaranth Yatra is of a recent origin. They claim that it started only after a Muslim shepherd of Batakot, a certain Buta Malik, originally”discovered” the Amarnath cave when he lost his flock and found that it had strayed into the sacred spot some 150 years ago. There is no documentary proof of this so-called discovery, the story having probably been concocted to give credit to Muslims for having started the most popular Hindu pilgrimage of Kashmir.

There is ample and conclusive historical evidence, on the other hand, to prove that the holy cave and the ice lingam were known to the people since very ancient times and have been continuously and regularly visited by pilgrims not only from Kashmir but also from different parts of India.

While the earliest reference to Amarnath can be seen in the Nilamata Purana (v.1324), a 6th century Sanskrit text which depicts the religious and cultural life of early Kashmiris and gives Kashmir’s own creation myth, the pilgrimage to the holy cave has been described with full topographical details in the Bhringish Samhita and the Amarnatha Mahatmya, both ancient texts said to have been composed even earlier.

References to Amarnath, known have also been made in historical chronicles like the Rajatarangini and its sequels and several Western travellers’ accounts also leaving no doubt about the fact that the holy cave has been known to people for centuries. The original name of the tirtha, as given in the ancient texts, is of course Amareshwara, Amarnath being a name given later to it.

Giving the legend of the Naga Sushruvas, who in his fury burnt to ashes the kingdom of King Nara when he tried to abduct his daughter already married to a Brahmin youth, and after the carnage took his abode in the lake now known as Sheshnag (Kashmiri Sushramnag), Kalahana writes:

“The lake of dazzling whiteness [resembling] a sea of milk (Sheshnag), which he created [for himself as residence] on a far off mountain, is to the present day seen by the people on the pilgrimage to Amareshwara.”(Rajatarangini, Book I v. 267.Translation: M. A. Stein).

This makes it very clear that pilgrims continued to visit the holy Amarnath cave in the 12th century, for Kalhana wrote his chronicle in the years1148-49.

At another place in the Rajatarangini (Book II v. 138), Kalhana says that King Samdhimat Aryaraja (34 BCE-17CE) used to spend “the most delightful Kashmir summer” in worshiping a linga formed of snow “in the regions above the forests”. This too appears to be a reference to the ice linga at Amarnath. There is yet another reference to Amareshwara or Amarnath in the Rajatarangini (Book VII v.183). According to Kalhana, Queen Suryamati, the wife of King Ananta (1028-1063), “granted under her husband’s name agraharas at Amareshwara, and arranged for the consecration of trishulas, banalingas and other [sacred emblems]“.

In his Chronicle of Kashmir, a sequel to Kalhana’s Rajatarangini, Jonaraja relates that that Sultan Zainu’l-abidin (1420-1470) paid a visit to the sacred tirtha of Amarnath while constructing a canal on the left bank of the river Lidder (vv.1232-1234). The canal is now known as Shah Kol.

In the Fourth Chronicle named Rajavalipataka, which was begun by Prjayabhatta and completed by Shuka, there is a clear and detailed reference to the pilgrimage to the sacred site (v.841,vv. 847-849). According to it, in a reply to Akbar’s query about Kashmir Yusuf Khan, the Mughal governor of Kashmir at that time, described among other things the Amarnath Yatra in full detail. His description shows that the not only was the pilgrimage in vogue in Akbar’s time - Akbar annexed Kashmir in 1586 - but the phenomenon of waxing and waning of the ice linga was also well known.

Amareshwar (Amarnath) was a famous pilgrimage place in the time of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan also. In his eulogy of Shah Jahan’s father-in-law Asif Khan, titled “Asaf Vilas”, the famous Sanskrit scholar and aesthete Panditraj Jagannath makes clear mention of Amareshwara (Amarnath) while describing the Mughal garden Nishat laid out by Asif Khan. The King of gods Indra himself, he says, comes here to pay obeisance to Lord Shiva”.

As we well know Francois Bernier, a French physician accompanied Emperor Aurangzeb during his visit to Kashmir in 1663. In his book “Travels in Mughal Empire” he writes while giving an account the places he visited in Kashmir that he was “pursuing journey to a grotto full of wonderful congelations, two days journey from Sangsafed” when he “received intelligence that my Nawab felt very impatient and uneasy on account of my long absence”. The “grotto” he refers to is obviously the Amarnath cave as the editor of the second edition of the English translation of the book, Vincient A. Smith makes clear in his introduction. He writes: “The grotto full of wonderful congelations is the Amarnath cave, where blocks of ice, stalagmites formed by dripping water from the roof are worshipped by many Hindus who resort here as images of Shiva…..”

Another traveler, Vigne, in his book “Travels in Kashmir, Ladakh and Iskardu” writes about the pilgrimage to the sacred spot in detail, clearly mentioning that “the ceremony at the cave of Amarnath takes place on the 15th of the Hindoo month of Sawan” and that “not only Hindoos of every rank and caste can be seen collecting together and traveling up the valley of Liddar towards the celebrated cave……” Vigne visited Kashmir after his return from Ladakh in 1840-41 and published his book in 1842. His book makes it very clear that the Amarnath Yatra drew pilgrims from the whole of India in his time and was undertaken with great enthusiasm.

Again, the great Sikh Guru Arjan Dev is said to have granted land in Amritsar for the ceremonial departure of Chari, the holy mace of Lord Shiva which marks the beginning of the Yatra to the Holy Cave. In 1819, the year in which the Afghan rule came to an end in Kashmir, Pandit Hardas Tiku “founded the Chhawni Anmarnath at Ram Bagh in Srinagar where the Sadhus from the plains assembled and where he gave them free rations for the journey, both ways from his own private resources”, as the noted Kashmiri naturalist Pandit Samsar Chand Kaul has pointed out in his booklet titled “The Mysterious cave of Amarnath”.

Not only this, Amarnath is deeply enshrined in the Kashmiri folklore also as stories like that of Soda Wony clearly show. One can, therefore, conclude without any doubt that the Amaranth Yatra has been going on continuously for centuries along the traditional route of the Lidder valley and not a century and a half affair. May be during the Afghan rule when religious persecution of the Kashmiri Hindus was at its height and they were not allowed to visit their places of worship the pilgrimage was discontinued for about fifty or sixty years and during this period the flock of some shepherd may have strayed into the holy cave, but that in no way makes it of a recent origin or a show window of so-called Kashmiriat.

Amarnath outrage shocks the nation

By Pramod Kumar

Hindus once again came to the streets on July 3 to register their protest against cancellation of land allotment to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board at Baltal in Kashmir by the Jammu & Kashmir government. Responding to the Bharat Bandh call given by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), people observed complete bandh across the country. Barring some violent incidents in Indore and Satna in Madhya Pradesh where some anti-social elements tried to sabotage the peaceful bandh, the bandh passed peacefully across the country.

According to VHP general secretary Dr Pravin Togadia, from Jammu to Jharkhand, from Pune to Patna and from Gujarat to Goa, Hindus observed spontaneous bandh. This shows that Bharat will not tolerate any injustice to Hindus and will protest any such move democratically. The VHP had appealed to its activists to demonstrate peacefully and democratically. It had also advised all to exempt medical, school and essential commodities vehicles and services from the bandh and ensure no inconvenience to the old, disabled, sick, children etc.

Commenting on the incidents of Indore and Satna Dr Togadia said during the Rameshwaram Ram Sethu agitation and today’s ‘Save Amarnath Land from Jehadis’ agitation, the VHP has noticed that some anti-social elements in some states like MP, Gujarat, Punjab etc misguided media by using VHP, Bajrang Dal names for doing their own violence and for settling their personal enmity. VHP denies any reasonability of any criminal activities during the spontaneous Bharat Bandh that may have been done by the people not from VHP. Any such misreporting pertaining to the bandh amounts to criminal defamation, he added.

Dr Togadia made it clear that their agitation does not stop with the success of Bharat Bandh and it would continue till the land is returned to the Board. He announced to launch a Protest Week beginning from July 5 and made it clear that if the government fails to return the land to the Board the whole country would be made Ayodhya. “Now this agitation has reached every village of the country and every Hindu is now involved in it. The VHP unit in Jammu has decided to continue bandh for another 72 hours. The Jammu-Srinagar national highway is completely blocked and would not be opened till the government accepts the demand of Hindus. During our week-long agitation the stains and VHP activists would organise dharna, demonstration, etc. across the country. Memorandums would be presented to President, Prime Minister and Governors through the authorities concerned. The saints and VHP leaders would meet on July 8 and if the land was not returned to Baba Amarnath the agitation would be intensified,” he told Organiser in New Delhi.

The impact of the bandh in Delhi was seen everywhere. Even the tea and beetle shops remained closed voluntarily by the people to show their acrimony against the government. The VHP, Bajrang Dal, BJP and other organisation workers came to the streets at 9 am. They made the bandh successful in a peaceful manner. Police in Sultanpuri arrested 566 workers. In most parts the people shut down their establishments voluntarily. The local residents were also raised slogans against the government along with the demonstrating workers.

Meanwhile, former BJP president M. Venkaiah Naidu said if BJP comes to power at the Centre it would make all arrangements for Amarnath pilgrimage in Kashmir. Addressing the protesters in Delhi, he said it is a national shame that the UPA government has not been able to provide 100 acres of land for making arrangements for the pilgrims of Lord Amarnath, the symbol of the belief of crores of Hindus of the country. “Today the Hindus are feeling offended and insulted in their own country. This is the reason why there has been worldwide reaction to the decision of the Congress to cancel the allotment of land to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board. BJP is not going to sit silently. It will not tolerate any injustice against the Hindus,” he added.

Delhi BJP chief Dr Harsh Vardhan said the question is not only of 100 acres of land. The issue is connected with the belief, honour and prestige of the Hindus. The Congress government is insulting the Hindus again and again deliberately. By the arrest of Shankaracharya, demolition of Ram Sethu, questioning the existence of Lord Rama and now the cancellation of land allotted to Amarnath Shrine Board the Congress has proved that it would play the game of appeasement although the majority community may feel insulted. He warned the Congress would have to face the consequences of dividing the society.

Reports received from Jammu point out that curfew continued for the second day on July 3. However, angry residents came out on the roads at some places in Jammu city, defying curfew restrictions and staged protests against the land order cancellations. Banks, educational institutions and government offices remained closed for the third day in view of the strike and curfew. The Jammu-Srinagar highway, which is the supply lifeline to the valley, was also blocked by protestors at several places. Police had placed BJP state president Ashok Khajuria under house arrest in Jammu to prevent his participation in the protests.

Thousands of VHP workers blocked important arterial roads at Vakola, Malad and Borivili in northwest Mumbai and in the northeastern suburb of Ghatkopar. The shops and business establishments in several parts of Karnataka were also remained closed. There are reports of bandh from Kerala, Karantaka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab, Harayana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand and Orissa.

Abject surrender to Islamic separatists

By Shyam Khosla

If one were to talk of demographic change in the valley, it was brought about two decades ago when hundreds of thousands of Hindus were forced to flee from their homes by the terrorists and secessionists. There is almost complete ethnic cleansing of the valley. Since then Kashmiri Pandits are forced to live as refugees in their own country.

Congress Government has shamelessly surrendered to the Islamist and secessionist elements by rescinding the order that granted permission to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) to put up temporary shelters on forest land for the pilgrims to the holy cave. Anti-national elements and secessionists indulged in street violence and even stoned buses carrying pilgrims. They have vitiated the atmosphere and sharpened communal polarisation by spreading canards and hurting Hindu sentiments. The chilling message to Hindus is that their presence— even for the short duration of the yatra—is unacceptable to people in the valley.

Instead of curbing the mindless violence perpetrated by highly inflamed mobs, the State Government bet a hasty retreat and announced that the autonomous Shrine Board that was set up in the year 2000 to manage the pilgrimage would no longer be involved in the exercise. The task was taken over by the “secular” government. No effort was made to disabuse the public mind of falsehood spread by interested parties and jehadis. Baseless and provocative allegations went unchallenged by the Government. Nothing could be more absurd and stupid than the assertion that ‘transfer” of forest land to the Shrine Board was part of the hidden agenda to settle Hindus in the valley to bring about a demographic change in Muslim majority Kashmir. An innocuous plan to provide some resting places to Hindu pilgrims has been mischievously portrayed as a conspiracy. The fact is that State Government order had merely granted permission to SASB to raise “pre-fabricated structures only for camping purposes of pilgrims without going in for construction of permanent structures” on forest land and went on to clearly state that “proprietary status of forest land shall remain unchanged”.

The Government miserably failed to ensure security and create a reasonably congenial atmosphere so that Kashmiri Hindus could return to their ancestral land. More than 20,000 Hindu refugees from Pakistan who settled in the state in 1947 have been denied state citizenship rights. Under the circumstances, how can any non-state Hindu even think of settling in the valley? Blatant lies were spread by fanatics to incite anti-Hindu and anti-national feelings among the people in the valley. Instead of calling a spade a spade, Lt. General (retd.) S.K. Sinha, who was till recently Governor of J&K, and Hindu outfits are being blamed for the trouble in the valley by the Congress and the “secular” crowd.

So-called mainline political parties in J&K are no less guilty. PDP has all along drawn strength from separatist elements. In the last elections, the party emerged as the third largest party in the assembly with the clandestine support from secessionists. The party led by former Union Home Minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed and his daughter Mahbooba Mufti is unfolding its vicious “self-rule” plan that aims at weakening state’s links with the rest of the country and ultimately realising the dream of an “independent Kashmir ”. The PDP by withdrawing support from the Government sent a strong signal to separatists and secessionists that it is playing their game in the political arena.

Transfer of management of the Amarnath Yatra to an autonomous board in 2000 has never been smooth. Besides separatists, several other elements were irked by the decision. The Board regulated the money charged by porters and pony-owners to ensure that pilgrims were not exploited. Sections of civil servants who indulged in corruption and pocketed money allocated for providing facilities to pilgrims also resented the Shrine Board. At the political level too there was resistance. In the year 2004, SASB demanded that the period of yatra may be extended to two months and that the Board be allowed to use forest land to set up seven rest sites so that pilgrims could have access to sanitation, shelter and security. The then Chief Minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed opposed the demands tooth and nail. The J&K High Court gave a landmark judgment in 2005. It held that the duration of the yatra would be decided by the Board and not by the Govenrment and ordered that the State should immediately permit the use of forest land to provide shelter to pilgrims. So, the permission to use forest land for providing facilities for pilgrims has judicial sanction. How can they call the permission “illegal”? On the contrary, rescinding the permission is against the orders of the High Court and, therefore, illegal. Those who wish to pamper Muslims are not impressed. For them, Muslim sentiments based on falsehood are sacred while Hindu sentiments and safety is secondary.

While Muslim fundamentalists are celebrating their victory, Jammu is burning. Curfew was imposed and police resorted to firing on Hindus protesting against the Government capitulation to jehadi elements. Nationalist forces are observing bandh and strikes not only in Jammu but also all over the country. Demands for pulling down Haj complexes and Haj terminals are being raised by enraged citizens. They want Haj subsidies to be withdrawn. Providing countless amenities to Muslim pilgrims and denying minimum facilities to Hindu pilgrims is gross injustice and is totally unacceptable. The Congress party will have to pay a heavy political price for its anti-Hindu policies. Governor N.N. Vohra, who is ex-officio chairman of the SASB, has deeply hurt Hindu sentiments by handing over the management of the yatra to the State Government. His action, obviously taken at the instance of his political masters, has undermined his credibility he had so assiduously built over decades as an able and honest civil servant.

Secularism: It is a fraud on the Hindus

By M.S.N. Menon

How do we live in a multi-religious society? By suppressing all but one religion? This is one way. It is the way opted by the Semitic religions. They are still on the same course.

Hinduism chose a different route. It chose freedom—freedom to think and worship, which gave rise to tolerance.

For a thousand years, the sword and the cross ruled over Europe. It was marked by religious tyranny and intolerance. They call it the Dark Age.

Europe revolted against this tyranny and brought about the separation of religion and politics. From then the State became secular. That is, it never again allowed religion to invade the public domain. But Islam continues to be under religious tyranny even after 1400 years!

The Hindus have always kept their religion and politics separate. They paid a heavy price for it. But they enjoyed their freedom. What is more, there was peaceful co-existence among people.

The Yajur Veda says: “May I look upon all beings with the eye of a friend!” And the Prithvi Sukhta of the Atharva Veda says: “O Mother Earth,…. May we speak sweetly with one another.”

Ashoka, the great Buddhist emperor, exhorts his own sect (Buddhists) to revere other sects. (Rock Edict No.12) “By doing so”, he says, “a person exalts his own sect.” He calls for equal respect to all religions (Sarva Dharma Sama Bhava). Perhaps this is the model that Nehru chose for his policy of Secularism. But, alas!, he and his followers have made it an evil thing. Our tragedy is that we have to live with it. A revolution to over-turn it is long a-coming.

Nehru was an agnostic. He was against organised religion. He writes: “Often in history, we see that religion, which was meant to raise us and make us better and nobler, has made people behave like beasts…In the name of religion, thousands and millions have been killed and every possible crime has been committed.” True!

We should naturally expect Nehru to bridle the religious frenzy. But, no, instead, he became a reckless promoter of minority intransigence.

It was to appease the minorities that the Congress Party gave up nationalism. But nothing could appease the Muslims. They had their pound of flesh—the Partition of the country. But Partition did not solve the Hindu-Muslim problem. For which we have to thank Gandhi and Nehru in particular. By introducing Secularism (Sarva Dharma Sama Bhava), Nehru assuaged the Muslims of their fears and promised equal respect for all religions. But Nehru was the first to violate his own promises. How? I have two stories to show the kind of man he was.

In his book “Pilgrimage to Freedom”, K.M.Munshi writes: “When Junagad fell, Sardar Patel pledged the Government of India to the reconstruction of the historic Somnath temple.” The Central Government agreed. But Gandhi advised the Sardar to use private funds. This was accepted. But, says, Munshi, “Jawaharlal more than once criticised me for working for the restoration of the temple.” Why? Because restoration of Somnath would cause anxiety among Muslims.

As Sardar was dead by the time the temple was complete, Munshi invited Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the President of India, to inaugurate the temple. He agreed. But Nehru made violent protest against it. His objection was to the involvement of a secular state in matters religious . The real reason was that he did not want to offered the Muslims. But what about the sentiments of the Hindus? Did they not want the restoration of the temple? Did they not want to worship the deity of Somnath? Nehru was indifferent to Hindu sentiments. In the event, Dr. Prasad ignored Nehru’s objection.

This very same Nehru introduced the Haj Bill in Parliament in 1959 in order to subsidise Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca! The subsidy has now grown into a major drain on India’s exchequer.

Apart from this, State governments incur various expenses in connection with Haj. And Mumbai and Bangalore are the two cities which set aside substantial funds for the Haj. The point I want to make here is this: even Muslim countries do not subsidise the Haj!

The concepts of democracy and secularism can in theory threaten to disrupt the Muslim community by encouraging individualism. They can pose a challenge to Ijma. But there is no real threat. It is at present an intra-Hindu debate.

It is true the Muslims do not openly object to secularism. That is because they are compelled to obey the Constitution. They cannot challenge the very Constitution which guarantees them special rights.

Dear Reader, all these one can understand. But what is one to make of the fact that the Muslims consider Secularism as the worst evil? This is what Maulana Maududi, the founder of the Jamaat-e-Islami says. By its very nature, he says, an Islamic state is the very anti-thesis of a western secular democracy. Muslims as a community do not and indeed cannot accept secularism as a legitimate doctrine for the public domain For them, the public domain is not separate from the religious domain. Was Nehru not aware of this? He was! Which is why I call it the greatest fraud perpetrated on the Hindus.

Hindu body says Azad favouring Muslims in J & K

JAMMU, JULY 4 (PTI)

Various political and social organisations spearheading the present agitation in Jammu today alleged that Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad is adopting different yardsticks for Muslims and Hindus in the state.

"Azad succumbed to the pressure of secessionists on cancellation of land transfer order to Amarnath shrine board, ignoring the faith of crores of Hindus," said L K Sharma, convenor of the Sangarsh Samiti, a conglomeration of various political and social bodies.

Despite the fact that the shrine board had offered to pay Rs 2.43 crore for constructing temporary pre-fabricated huts for the pilgrims, the chief minister reversed the government order, he said.

Sharma said Azad had provided free government land for setting up Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University and Islamic University in the state, but not for Mata Vaishno Devi University set up near Katra.

The Parallel between anti-Brahminism and anti-Semitism

To be against "Brahminism" is part and parcel of the political correctness of progressive scholars in twenty-first-century India, much like being against Muslims is part of the message of their Hindutva colleagues. ...

by Jakob De Roover

Social science debate in India has been hijacked by the struggle between secularism and Hindutva for decades now. Usually the Sangh Parivar is blamed for this turn of events. However, it could well be argued that the Hindutva ideologues simply adopted the stance of the secularists. Perhaps the best illustration is the case of anti-Brahminism.

To be against "Brahminism" is part and parcel of the political correctness of progressive scholars in twenty-first-century India, much like being against Muslims is part of the message of their Hindutva colleagues. This indicates that something is very wrong with the Indian academic debate. Promotion of animosity towards a religious tradition or its followers is not acceptable today, but it becomes truly perverse when the intelligentsia endorses it.

In Europe, it took horrendous events to put an end to the propaganda of anti-Semitism, which had penetrated the media and intelligentsia. It required decades of incessant campaigning before anti-Semitism was relegated to the realm of intellectual and political bankruptcy. In India, anti-Brahminism is still the proud slogan of many political parties and the credential of the radical intellectual.

Some may find this parallel between anti-Brahminism and anti-Semitism ill-advised. Nevertheless, it has strong grounds.

First, there are striking similarities between the stereotypes about Brahmins in India and those about Jews in the West. Jews have been described as devious connivers, who would do anything for personal gain. They were said to be secretive and untrustworthy, manipulating politics and the economy. In India, Brahmins are all too often characterised in the same way.

Second, the stereotypes about the Jews were part of a larger story about a historical conspiracy in which they had supposedly exploited European societies. To this day, the stories about a Jewish conspiracy against humanity prevail. The anti-Brahminical stories sound much the same, but have the Brahmins plotting against the oppressed classes in Indian society.

In both cases, historians have claimed to produce "evidence" that cannot be considered so by any standard. Typical of the ideologues of anti-Brahminism is the addition of ad hoc ploys whenever their stories are challenged by facts. When it is pointed out that the Brahmins have not been all that powerful in most parts of the country, or that they were poor in many regions, one reverts to the image of the Brahmin manipulating kings and politicians behind the scene. We cannot find empirical evidence, it is said, because of the secretive way in which Brahminism works.

Third, both in anti-Semitic Europe and anti-Brahminical India, this goes together with the interpretation of contemporary events in terms of these stories. One does not really analyse social tragedies and injustices, but approaches them as confirmations of the ideological stories. All that goes wrong in society is blamed on the minority in question. Violence against Muslims? It must be the "Brahmins" of the Sangh Parivar. Opposition against Christian missionaries and the approval of anti-conversion laws? "Ah, the Brahmins fear that Christianity will empower the lower castes." Members of a scheduled caste are killed? "The Brahmin wants to show the Dalit his true place in the caste hierarchy." An OBC member loses his job; a lower caste girl is raped? "The upper castes must be behind it." So the story goes.

This leads to a fourth parallel: in both cases, resentment against the minority in question is systematically created and reinforced among the majority.

The Jews were accused of sucking all riches out of European societies. In the decades before the second World War, more and more people began to believe that it was time "to take back what was rightfully theirs." In India also, movements have come into being that want to set right "the historical injustices of Brahminical oppression." Some have even begun to call upon their followers to "exterminate the Brahmins."

In Europe, state policies were implemented that expressed the discrimination against Jews. For a very long time, they could not hold certain jobs and participate in many social and economic activities. In India, one seems to be going this way with policies that claim to correct "the historical exploitation by the upper castes." It is becoming increasingly difficult for Brahmins to get access to certain jobs. In both cases, these policies have been justified in terms of a flawed ideological story that passes for social science.

The fifth parallel is that both anti-Semitism and anti-Brahminism have deep roots in Christian theology. In the case of Judaism, its continuing vitality as a tradition was a threat to Christianity’s claim to be the fulfilment of the Jewish prophecies about the Messiah. The refusal of Jews to join the religion of Christ (the true Messiah, according to Christians) was seen as an unacceptable denial of the truth of Christianity. Saint Augustine even wrote that the Jews had to continue to exist, but only to show that Christians had not fabricated the prophesies about Christ and to confirm that some would not follow Christ and be damned for it.

The contemporary stereotypes about Brahmins and the story about Brahminism also originate in Christian theology. They reproduce Protestant images of the priests of false religion. When European missionaries and merchants began to travel to India in great numbers, they held two certainties that came from Christian theology: false religion would exist in India; and false religion revolved around evil priests who had fabricated all kinds of laws, doctrines and rites in order to bully the innocent believers into submission. In this way, the priests of the devil abused religion for worldly goals. The European story about Brahminism and the caste system simply reproduced this Protestant image of false religion. The colonials identified the Brahmins as the priests and Brahminism as the foundation of false religion in India. This is how the dominant image of "the Hindu religion" came into being.

The sixth parallel lies in the fact that Christian theology penetrated and shaped the "secular" discourse about Judaism and Brahminism. The theological criticism became part of common sense and was reproduced as scientific truth. In India, this continues unto this day. Social scientists still talk about "Brahminism" as the worst thing that ever happened to humanity.

Perhaps the most tragic similarity is that some members of the minority community have internalised these stories about themselves. Some Jews began to believe that they were to blame for what happened during the Holocaust; many educated Brahmins now feel that they are guilty of historical atrocities against other groups. In some cases, this has led to a kind of identity crisis in which they vilify "Brahminism" in English-language academic debate, but continue their traditions. In other cases, the desire to "defend" these same traditions has inspired Brahmins to aggressively support Hindutva.

In twentieth-century Europe, we have seen how dangerous anti-Semitism was and what consequences it could have in society. Tragically, unimaginable suffering was needed before it was relegated to the realm of unacceptable positions. In India, anti-Brahminism was adopted from Protestant missionaries by colonial scholars who then passed it on to the secularists and Dalit intellectuals. They created the climate which allowed the Sangh Parivar to continue hijacking the social sciences for petty political purposes.

The question that India has to raise in the twenty-first century is this: Do we need bloodshed, before we will realise that the reproduction of anti-Brahminism is as harmful as anti-Muslim propaganda? What is needed to realise that the Hindutva movement has simply taken its cue from the secularists? Do we need a new victory of fascism, before we will admit that pernicious ideologies should not be sold as social science?

Threat of Islamisation of India

Few days back along with one of my friend and national convener of new emerging political formation Yuwa Dal (Youth party)Vinay Kumar Singh I visited diamond harbour jail in west Bengal situated some more than hundred miles away from holy Hindu pilgrim place called Gangasagar. Occasion and motive of our visit was obvious as we have to meet leader of Hindu Samhati Tapan Ghosh who had been put behind bars under some non-bailable offence after a communally charged muslim mob attacked workshop of Hindu Smahati on 12th of June in Gangasagar. Our visit has journalistic motivation rather than any political. After this attack lot of versions came out in various articles in several websites but this incident had no coverage in so called mainstream media. After visiting West Bengal and meeting to workers of Hindu Samhati along with jail officials and local journalist it was quite clear why this incident did not has any coverage in mainstream media. First it was very normal incident which happened and in some way it was below normal because it had no causality and according to people of that state which is ruled by communists for more than decades and decades with its identity of political blood shedding rather than development or industrialization witness attack on political opponents of communists on regular basis and because of zero causality in the incident of 12 June in no way was a news for newspapers in West Bengal. So called national media or mainstream media refrained from giving coverage to this incident with fear of antagonizing establishment and government in centre, if they had to take cognizance of this incident they have to recognize the feud between Hindus and Muslims which aggravates the debate on communal status of the state so mainstream media adopted the middle path not to engage itself in the debate of relationship of Hindu and Muslims in West Bengal. But thanks to evolution of alternate media in the form of several websites and groups on various domains that ignite this debate and exchanged information between them.

When we visited West Bengal and met various organizations and people we were able to realize the gravity of the situation and meaning behind this incident. Motivation and provocation of this incident had been described in various articles and I am in no mood to repeat those things but some sensational facts which we gathered were certainly has some indications for future of relations of Hindus and Muslims in India.

Gangasagar is a holy pilgrimage for Hindus and around this place one Islamist mafia Ismail Sheikh has full control in this area and earns millions of millions rupees with controlling the water supply of this area and distributing the water to neighboring villages but in return this Islamist figure has no respect for Hindu sentiments as he instigate other Muslims to sell beef openly in pilgrimage area knowing well that Hindus have keeps high regard for cow and they find it sacred in their religion. In various pilgrimage areas in India selling beef is prohibited but in this particular place Muslims breach this norm only to tease Hindus as well showing their monopoly in those areas. Islamist figure Ismail Sheikh with help of a local communist leader SukhRam Panda when stimulated the attack on Hindus who were participating in a workshop it was first naked attack on Hindus with nexus of red and green or you say it nexus of communists and Islamists.

Story does not end here when we visited daimaond harbour jail we were shocked to some new facts for which we were not ready. A Hindu who was earlier in that particular jail for one month told us few things which were not less than shocking. In Daimond harbour jail there is a cell no.7 which has exclusively Muslim prisoners and that cell has been converted into Islamic cell as all the prisoners has circled some area of floor of that cell with blanket and call that area “Blanket Mosque”. Nobody has any objection to any prisoner if he prays according to his faith in prison but all the kafirs has been prohibited to use bath room or toilet of that so-called Blanket Mosque area not only kafirs are being prohibited they are being forced to use their right hand to wash toilet or cleanse themselves which is barred according to Hindu religion as Hindus are being allowed only to use their left hand for toilet cleansing. These incidents were shocking only because they indicate something and which has some bigger meanings. Muslims in India are not ready to respect the sentiments of Hindus and peace is possible with them on only one condition that Hindus should become submissive and submit themselves to Islamic faith.

When we were on the visit of West Bengal Kashmir boiled on the issue of another Hindu pilgrimage issue. A holy and prestigious pilgrimage place situated in Kashmir and related to one of prominent Hindu deity “Shiva” called Amarnath another name of Shiva came under fire of Islamist forces. All this fuss started when regulatory body of Amarnath Pilgrimage Amarnath shrine board was allotted 40 hectare land in Kashmir to construct some temporary residential places in form of camps for pilgrims. In year 2000 government of J&K at that time headed by national conference formed Amarnath Shrine Board which is responsible to governor of state not government which later took over the responsibility of management of pilgrimage which now last for two months. When outgoing governor of J&K general S.K. Sinha allotted this forest land to shrine board some separatist groups and Islamist groups objected to this allotment as it would disturb echo atmosphere of valley. When CEO of shrine board Arun Kumar countered this argument with Hindu pollution vs Muslim pollution and made allegations that in Dull lake of valley Muslims are already habited and echo system is getting affected so how Hindus pilgrims could not be allowed to habitat in temporary camps during their pilgrimage. This statement came under fire and separatist and pro-Pakistani groups as Hurriyat conference and other political parties in Kashmir which have sympathy for Pakistan as per example PDP tried to vitiate the communal atmosphere of valley with provocative statements that government is trying to habitat Hindus in valley to disturb the demography of state. This statement exposes these groups and put big question mark on their crocodile tears for Kashmiri Hindus who have systematically annihilated from valley to pave the way for Islamisation of valley. From time to time these organizations claim that they are very much supportive of the idea that Kashmiri Hindus should return to valley as Kashmir has a different culture of Kashmiriyat but these sponsored protests against Hindu pilgrimage tells story in itself about their deception and motive.

India is Hindu majority state but Muslims have been given equal status here even in application of their sharia they are being given full freedom in the name of personal law and they don’t follow land of law and challenge Supreme court of India not to dare interfere in their matters as divorce, marriage, polygamy, adaptation etc. Their waqf boards have full autonomy; these institutions are out of purview of land of law. Their pilgrimage of Haj has been awarded with state subsidy but these Muslims don’t respect Hindu sentiments. In one of TV channel in discussion with this controversial leader of JKLF and former terrorist Yasseen Malik given byte that our objection is for management of this pilgrimage. According to this terrorist leader who was once name of terror in 1980’s in valley for Hindus and main figure to compel Hindus to leave the valley told news channel that Amarnath shrine board had tradition for last sixty years to have management of this pilgrimage in hands of Muslims and get some amount of royalty from this pilgrimage which ultimately culminates in employment of hundreds and thousands of youths. At the same time if Yaseen Malik would have been asked if he has allowed Hindus to get management of Ajamer Shrif in Rajsthan, or management of WAQF board or Haj pilgrimage their answers is obvious big no. Then why management of Hindu pilgrims in Muslim hands only because they have mentality of Islamism and Islamic supremacy.

Our visit of West Bengal has experienced us that this state is under threat of Communists-Islamist take over with threat of Islamisation of India. This is not the story of West Bengal alone. Along with border areas of Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal nexus of Maoists and Islamists building huge infrastructure to take over India with design of Islamism and Maoism. West Bengal is flooded with Bangladeshi Muslim infiltrators as earlier they were welcomed by communists as their potential vote bank and later on they are most vulnerable to Islamist recruitment. Border areas of India along with Bangladesh with border areas of states of Bihar, West Bengal and Assam has become potential threat for national security as demography of some districts has changed so miraculously with growth of more than 100 or 200%. On the one hand Bangladeshi infiltrators has been welcomed by political parties in West Bengal and Assam with garland in their hands and the other hand more than 10 million Hindus in these two states still struggling for their status as citizen of India. Hindus have only one state in the form of India which they claim as their homeland but in their own home they are being disowned because of their Hindu identity. Now if you visit India you would come to know Hindus are under seize, they are afraid, they are on the verge of another partition of their motherland in the name of religion. All this is happening due to Muslim appeasement and wrong interpretation of secularism which has become synonymous to Muslim appeasement.

Threat of Islamisation of India has some implications for world as well as India is the only democracy with pluralistic view between Tel Aviv to New Delhi. If this nation also comes under Islamic rule or disintegrate in another states on religious ground there would be no hope of democracy and free world in this world. Threat of Islamisation of India is not only threat of India it is a threat for civilized world as well. Need of the hour is to bring all civilized people and nation under one umbrella to fight against Islamisation of this world which has become gravest threat for civilized world in modern history after down fall of communism and fascism.

Unending story of Hindu bashing

By Shyam Khosla

Historians narrate and interpret major events in such a manner that people can appreciate developments in a correct perspective. However, sections of our historians have no such commitment. They grow with prejudices and indulge in propagating falsehood to malign those whose world view they don’t agree with. They fish out incidents and project them out of context to justify falsehood they wish to propagate. A notorious gang of “eminent historians” that have captured levers of power in major academic and media establishments use its clout to debunk those who dare to disagree with their interpretation of history and promote fellow travellers to misguide and confuse public mind. Even ordinary work of members of the group is glorified. They ensure that only like-minded persons get good reviews and awards go to only those who subscribe to a particular ideology. The latest addition to the ranks of “eminent historians” is Banglore-based Ramchandra Guha—notorious for his anti-Hindutva bias and Sangh bashing. In a recent article titled “The original Hindu Rashtra” published on the edit page of The Hindustan Times, he selectively quotes from a small booklet published more than four decades ago, under the title, King Mahendra and RSS, to indulge in his vicious hobby. It is a blatant attempt to distort events in 1960s to malign and demonise RSS. He ridicules King Mahendra of Nepal’s aborted visit to Nagpur at the invitation of the second Sarsanghachalak Shri Guruji (M.S. Golwalkar) by selectively quoting from the aforementioned booklet and deliberately ignores several important facts mentioned in the booklet to give a distorted view about Shri Guruji’s mission.

Since Guha has brought back into public domain the sad chapter of recent history, it is in public interest to briefly narrate the background of the developments and the facts of the case to inform people of the dirty role certain people played to derail a sincere attempt to strengthen Indo-Nepal ties. It is well known that Nepal and India share deep historical, religious and cultural ties. Even politically, New Delhi wielded great influence over the Himalayan Kingdom with which we have open borders. What is not widely known is that India played a major role in the escape of King Tribhuvan and the royal family from the clutches of ruthless Rana rulers of Nepal in 1950. The royal family, barring one of the grandchildren of King Tribhuvan, took refuge in Indian Embassy and was later flown to New Delhi in an IAF plane. New Delhi brought pressure to build on Ranas that led to the collapse of their dictatorial, inefficient and corrupt regime and restored the dignity of monarchy in Nepal. Pandit Nehru did all this on the premise that our neighbour will have a constitutional monarchy and democratically elected Government. That the history didn’t take the route the first Indian Prime Minister visualised is another story.

What is relevant at this point of time is that a country with which we had very close and pleasant relations for long started drifting towards China during the run up to the Chinese aggression of 1962 and in the aftermath of our humiliating defeat in the border war. This naturally caused deep concern to New Delhi as well as concerned citizens. It is in this context that Shri Guruji undertook a pilgrimage to Pashupatinath on the occasion of Mahashivratri in the year 1963. Not surprisingly, he utilised his visit to call on King Mahendra. During the hour-long cordial conversation, Shri Guruji cautioned the King about China’s expansionist designs and emphasised “unbreakable religious and cultural” ties between the two countries and the need to further strengthen friendly relations. The King too broadly agreed with the RSS leader and readily accepted the invitation to visit Nagpur at a mutually convenient date so that Hindus of India could honour a Hindu king.

Guha whose aim appears to be to make fun of RSS move never thought it fit to quote from that very booklet that Shri Guruji on his return from Kathmandu wrote to the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister about the nature of his talks with the King and his impressions of the visit. Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru promptly responded to Shri Guruji’s initiative and expressed his broad agreement with his assessment of the situation. The “historian” with a closed mind gives the impression, as if the RSS wanted to draw some mileage from the royal visit. The fact of the matter is that the RSS mission was to wean away Nepal from Chinese camp and to strengthen Indo-Nepal ties. Although Shri Guruji kept aloof from politics and had absolutely no political ambition, he made several interventions at crucial times to protect national interests. His crucial role in persuading the Maharaja of Jammu & Kashmir to stop vacillating and sign the instrument of accession to India is well known. Shri Guruji had rushed to Srinagar to convey to Maharaja Harisingh that his dream of independence was neither in his interest nor that of the people of the state did play a part in persuading the Maharaja to take the correct decision.

As a journalist working for a multi-lingual news agency—Hindusthan Samachar—in Kathmandu in 1960s, this writer had a ringside view of these developments. Senior Sangh leader Bhau Rao Deoras went to Kathmandu in 1964 to hand over Shri Guruji’s invitation to the King to be the chief guest at Nagpur Makar Sankranti Utsav in January 1965. The King conveyed his willingness to participate in the function through the then Chairman of the Council of Ministers (as the Prime Minister was then known) Dr Tulsi Giri. Shri Guruji promptly wrote to President S. Radhakrishnan and Prime Minister Nehru about King Mahendra’s acceptance of his invitation. In view of the sensitivity of the issue, he flew to Delhi to personally brief the President. Despite RSS efforts to keep the Government in the loop, the Congress Government scuttled this noble mission. It is a sad story of our short-sighted leaders and bureaucrats sacrificing national interests at the altar of petty partisan and personal interests. Equally agonising is the falsehood the South Block tried—albeit without much success—to spread by suggesting that it had no role in the cancellation of the visit. Ironically, the first announcement about the cancellation of the visit was made by the External Affairs Ministry in New Delhi. Dr Giri, in an interview with this correspondent on the very next day denounced South Block’s claim as a “blatant lie”. He made it clear that the King had reluctantly cancelled the trip on the advice of the Indian Government. This interview was widely carried by sections of Indian media. King’s letter to Shri Guruji is significant in this connection. It inter alia reads, “I extremely regret to inform you that on account of various unavoidable circumstances of which you are aware, it would not be possible for me to attend the same (function). I do hope you will kindly understand my difficulties and also appreciate how ruffled are my feelings in not being able to attend (the function) as a Hindu”. So, the King wanted to be at Nagpur as a Hindu. How unfortunate that New Delhi couldn’t stomach it. King Mahendra’s decision to participate in a function organised by a Hindu organisation that was perceived to be anti-Communist had sent shock waves to Pakistani and Chinese lobbies. New Delhi’s stupid action in aborting the visit came as a great relief to these elements.

Dr Giri’s response put the entire episode in the right perspective. He angrily asked, “What is wrong with His Majesty addressing the RSS (function)? No one objected to the Pope addressing the Eucharistic Congress in Bombay. No one had anything to say when the Tunku suggested an Islamic alliance on his visit to Rawalpindi nor when President Ayub entered into a pact with Turkey and Iran. Why then should anybody object to a Hindu King addressing a Hindu organisation, thereby emphasising the unity of Hinduism”? Guha must have read all this in the booklet he based his article on. But he had no use for such sentiments. He makes fun of Dr Giri by telling him that his prophesy about Hindu Nepal never going red has been proved wrong. He is entitled to celebrate Maoists victory in Nepal in utter disregard to its implications for our national security. It is not surprising given the Communists’ track record of supporting China on the Sino-Indian border dispute and providing the ideological justification for the Partition of our motherland.

Combating Marxist Murder March Agaianst The HIndus

Dr. BABU SUSEELAN

The fall of Berlin Wall and the collapse of the bureaucratic Stalinist regimes of Russia and Eastern Europe have been heralded as the end of "Marxism".

Now Marxists who are in power in Kerala and West Bengal are rattling their sword and encouraging Marxist criminals to join with Jihadis, smugglers, bandits and mafia, whose modus operandi uses bombing, assassination, kidnapping, extortion and terror. Marxism meant in practice is bloody terrorism, deadly purges, lethal gulags, and forced labor, manufactured famines, extrajudicial executions and genocide. It is also widely known that thousands of innocent Hindus have been murdered in cold blood in Marxist ruled states in Kerala, West Bengal and Tripura. The Marxists have joined together with Maoist groups, Jihadi terrorist organizations and Peoples War group for the premeditated killing of Hindus in Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Bihar. They are also causing the death of Hindus through reckless and wanton disregard for human life.

Marxist party justifies terrorism against Hindus on grievances. In fact, Marxist murder mayhem is not sparked by grievance, but rather, it is inspired by Marxist intolerance, hatred and prejudice against Hindus. Marxist opposition to spirituality, openness, pluralism and tolerance is nothing new. It is as old as Marxism.

Terrorism is an essential part of the Communist Manifesto. Marx and Engels state that history is essentially the history of the class struggle. And the history is full of violence and terror; -terror from above-and terror from below. Of course terrorism is not only a form of political struggle but it is one of the most common strategy Marxists use against its opponents.

While terror constitutes the heart of the Marxist war plan, their goal cannot be achieved without the support of the anti-Hindu forces in India. Marxists are not standing alone in such mass murder of Hindus. The Marxists are tapping into the Islamic terrorist group, the Congress Party, and the anti Hindu press. The Marxist party is using pseudo secular words to charm the vain and muddled leadership of the Congress Party. The Marxists also need an outpouring of Islamic emotions to place secular judiciary, government, and the police on the defensive and make them supporting Marxist war on Hindus.

In foreign countries, Marxism and Islam waged bloody wars. Nevertheless, for a long time, there has existed an implicit Marxist-Islamic alliance in India against Hindus. It operates in politics, and in acquiescence or implicitly in terrorism against Hindus. Leftist writers are free to attack Hindus, but they remain blind to the excesses of Jihadi Muslims. The Marxist-Islamic alliance is strong for a variety of reasons. Marxism and Islam are blind, non-compromising, totalitarian dogmas opposed to free thinking Hindus. Marxist-Islamic hatred against Hindu liberalism is neither logical or practical. The ghost of Marxism remains alive in different parts of India and its goal is to extend its power and influence over free spirited Hindus. The Marxist-Islamic alliance and their deadly hatred against Hindus survives in India because the majority never questioned it. Moreover, Marxist governments in Kerala and West Bengal never allow Hindus to channel their grievances through legal forms. The Marxist government uses state institutions for repression of Hindus.
Prior to, during and after independence, Hindus have faced repeated episodes of genocides, collective violence and state sponsored terrorism. Relent anti Hindu media coverage seemed to make individuals and entire Indian society less sensitive to the horrors of the carnage. As the number of the episodes of mass Hindu killing increased in Kannur, Thalassery and Panoor, the public reaction was mute. Hundreds of Hindus had disappeared, detained, tortured, imprisoned and murdered by the Marxist criminals in Nadapuram, Kasargode, Kozhikode, Thalipparambu, Kilimanoor and Malappuram. Since July, 2007 more than 85 Hindus have been brutally murdered by the Marxist criminals. Most of the victims were killed by machete attacks. The Hindu victims died a slow and painful death. Between 2006 and 2008, there were 124 bombings, small arms attack, home invasion, and roadside murder attempts. The lethality of the Marxist bombings and terrorist incidents also increased. The Marxists justify heinous crimes against Hindus as a necessary battle to destroy "old thought", "old culture", "old habits", and "old customs".

CONFRONTING MARXIST "KILL FOR THRILL' GAME

How to confront the systematic murder of innocent Hindus in Kerala by the Marxist goons, an event of unprecedented magnitude and horror?. What are we to make of the calculated cruelty of the Marxists and the indifference of the Congress Party and bogus secularists?. The majority are still indoctrinated by Psychological warfare operatives whose main role is to disseminate disinformation and carefully manipulated information about Hindus. The Marxists and the Congress Party along with the Islamists have joined together with the secular media to conduct awareness operations that would influence public opinion. These awareness operations, perception management, and mental misdirection campaigns are conducted through propaganda and disinformation.

The conspiracy of media silence also covers up the fact that Marxist funds are still funding these murders. The media determined not to rock the boat has been pretending not know that Marxist party money was greasing the murderers.

Common sense is one of the rarest of commodities these days. And it has been made rarer by the gradual transformation of our society in the past sixty years into a pseudo secular culture. The three basic values of the secular culture are tolerance of aberrant behavior, a non-judgmental attitude, and a sense of entitlement for the organized thugs.

It is time for Hindus to join together and show their strength. They should somehow get their heads out of the sand and realize that the world is a dangerous place and their pacifism, tolerance, indifference, denial, self-criticism, and apathy will get them nothing but a one way trip to loss of the freedoms that they take so much for granted. Anti-Hindu forces have embarked upon a multi-faceted strategy for defeating Hindus. Can Hindus resist the organized and shameless oppression? Is there a way to preserve Hindu self-respect and not to feel helpless, neglected, abandoned and unwanted?
Hindus are facing existential threats similar to those faced in the 8th century from the invading Muslims. Indeed the danger today is worse because Hindus are now dominated by hostile groups. Hindus around the world should awake and courageously assert Hindu rights. Courage is not an emotion, it is an act of will. Hindus need to be proactive with the manner in which we achieve desired outcomes. Our denial, apathy, tolerance, pacifism and irrational defenses should not hamper our offensive abilities. Hindus have been on the defensive on multiple fronts. We must be on the offensive regardless of world opinion. If we continue to tolerate Marxist and Jihadi murder mayhem and their intolerant dogmas, we will not be able to achieve anything. We will be butchered and enslaved for ever.

Hindu organizations should resort to positive violence and massive retaliation all across India against Marxist criminals. Marxists with criminal thinking, criminal needs and risk taking behavior are not willing to change through negotiation, unconditional positive regard or counseling. We must understand how Marxist criminals think and realize they have a fundamental different view of the world from that of Hindus who are basically tolerant and responsible. These miscreants should be cornered, contained and a force continuum shall be applied to save the community from these deadly criminals. We must specially target these criminals and their thinking errors if positive outcomes are to be achieved. Hindu organizations must demonstrate sophistication needed to be viable and visible, and assertive in the changed political world. In order to survive in this changing world of communication, political realities, information warfare and mind manipulation requires Hindus to move beyond mere survival. Hindus need to design an action agenda for turning passive reaction into proactive realities in the public field.

It is time for Hindus to wake up from the slumber, join together and show courage and determination to discriminate between good and evil and to create a strong community. It is a culture war. It is a constant and continuing war on our spiritual values in order to weaken our nation. We must stand up and take sides in this war for the minds.

Hindu organizations must have emotional bonding with Hindus from all over the world. Organizational force, particularly when wielded by a strong Hindu organization, can carry substantial clout. Successful use of organizational power is warranted against perpetrators or its sponsors of terrorism against Hindus. Part of the purpose for displaying Hindu strength and organizational power, in addition to eradication or discouragement of specific murder groups, may be to send a strong message to the target terrorist group that any attack against Hindus comes with a price.

Anything anti-Hindu means to be perfectly secular

The highbrow correctionists
20 Jun 2008, 1920 hrs IST
Tarun Vijay

Suppose in a distant city of India, a college had announced 80 per cent reservation for Hindus and had said it would lower the admission criteria for disadvantaged Hindus by 25 per cent. The secular sirens of the media class would have rushed there, braving weather and bad roads, and their first question to the principal and his masters would have been: "Aren't you ashamed to bruise and brutalise the spirit of the Constitution while enjoying the fruits of it?"

But since the college in question is St Stephen's, the mecca of all that is good and shining, the seculars are looking the other way over the arrogant orders of the bishop, who has targeted Hindus again like his British proselytizer masters of the colonial era.

There is just no merit or desire to help Christians in his order that seeks to ensure 50 per cent seats for Christians – it's an open announcement that if someone wants to have the privilege of studying in this Christian college, he must convert.

At least his predecessors were doing some hard work, but this gentleman has abused the generosity of the Hindu majority. All over India, Christian schools are run on Hindu money yet they abuse Hindu sensibilities and offend their religious beliefs. It's a shame that in spite of this, a large number of Hindus feel good about advertising in newspapers boasting that their marriageable daughter is "convent educated". True, not all Christian sects indulge in this nefarious activity of hurting Hindus. The Syrian Christians for instance. They are one of the most tolerant sects and are closest to the spiritualism that Hindus understand and adore.

St Stephen's has come up with pressure tactics earlier to get Hindus aspiring for a good education to convert but its hyped-up image in the media ensured that no one spoke up, thus further inflating the false egos of its masters, who have been entangled just recently in an ugly internal power struggle. Now the bishop has slapped the secular drumbeaters of the Durban variety who see everything "great" in anything that's Vaticanised. It’s happening when India's 80 per cent Hindus celebrate Independence Day and they are the ones who rule through any party, any colour. They look at this colonial chapter being re-enacted and turn their face the other way for fear of being branded "anti-minority". The certifiers sitting in the corridors of power ensure that anything against Hindus is stamped and rewarded as secular. Fellowships and accolades from foreign lands follow.

That's where BJP president Rajnath Singh's call to change the word dharmanirpekshata to the constitutionally enacted word " panth nirpekshata " becomes relevant. Naturally Sitaram Yechury has denounced it in a half-baked column that exposes the left ignorance about Bharat. Dharma is NOT religion, Panth is. Dharma as interpreted by the Upanishads and re-emphasised by scholars like Balgangadhar Tilak, Swami Vivekananda, and Dr Radhakrishnan is the universal righteousness, duty, or any virtuous path. It's the dharma of the soldier to defend the motherland and of teacher to impart knowledge to students. How can a constitution call upon its citizens to abandon his duties and righteousness? When this was brought to the knowledge of Indira Gandhi, she agreed and the word dharmanirpekshta in the preamble of the Constitution was translated as panth nirpekshta . The seat of the Speaker in Parliament has engraved over its head the words Dharma Chakra Paravartanaye which means to set in motion the wheel of righteousness. That is the purpose the creator of the Constitution intended for lawmakers. The Supreme Court's official logo declares Yato Dharmah Tato Jayah which means the victory is where dharma i.e. righteousness is.

The contemporary secular crowd has given a new word to the Indian lexicon – anything anti-Hindu means to be perfectly secular. Is that what the Indian soul, an embodiment of dharma and virtuosity, is expected to accept?

It's ironical that the clique that hurts Hindus the most is voted to power by Hindus, financed and facilitated by them and yet what they get in return is platitudes and sermons by the hardest Hindu baiters on how a Hindu should behave. Patronisingly they will advise – you are very nice, good boy, behave like the Rai Bahadurs behaved when Bhagat Singh was being hanged. Recently at a television discussion, a gentleman arguing that Afzal's capital sentence be commuted to life imprisonment told me: "Look at your Hindu scriptures, they have always advocated peace and mercy. Then why hang Afzal?" I said: "Read the Gita . The order to the followers of that great scripture by the Lord is protect the noble and annihilate the wicked. Those who behave otherwise must reflect whether they are following the Gita or not. Not a single God in the Hindu pantheon is without weapons and none has ever pardoned an unrepentant wicked."

Another news channel, while presenting a special feature on the Shivaji controversy said that "in spite of being a Hindu, Shivaji never discriminated against any other religion – in fact he had a Muslim bodyguard".

Why was the phrase "in spite" used? It's the natural virtue of a Hindu to be non-discriminatory, hence the anchor should have said – "like a true Hindu, Shivaji never discriminated against any other faith". It is this kind of blind hate and contempt about Hindus and their sensibilities that is making a section among Hindus behave like Islamic zealots and secular fundamentalists. Getting violent against a person of a different opinion was never a signature tune for Hindus. Intolerant Semitic religionists and Communists introduced it to us. Hence the stone-pelting by a few at the residence of an editor in Thane must be condemned. But pray, those who show their brevity in assaulting icons of Hindu nationalism would also do well to introspect if their actions are triggering an Islamisation of Hindu behavior?

Nothing can be more un-Hindu than to be intolerant to other viewpoints, but Hindus have been subjected to many years of intolerance that has made them think that unless they too behave like the assaulters, their existence will remain under constant threat.

The highbrow correctionists of Hindu behaviour have positioned themselves as certifiers of an acceptable norm in a secular (read 'distanced from Hindu heritage') polity. They are busy in the old Communist jihadi practices of enlisting, delisting and blacklisting. Their reactions to a different view show it all. It certainly is changing the contours of Hindu response. The secular certifiers may trigger another renaissance through precipitating the angst accumulating inside the Hindu heart – and certainly like this land of sages and noble warriors has always shown the change that would come will be in accordance with the vision of seers like Sri Aurobindo.

Why the Left Doesn't Blame Muslims for Muslim Violence

By Dennis Prager
FrontPageMagazine.com

There's a certain consistent pattern regarding the worldwide Left's assessment of culpability for Muslim terror. It is the fault of the murdered.

The most recent example is the blaming of Denmark, or at least the Danish newspaper, for publishing cartoons of Muhammad. From Kofi Annan to The New York Times -- and the other American newspapers that declared respect for religious symbols a new journalistic virtue -- liberal and leftist opinion always condemns violent Muslim demonstrations, but always with a "but." The "but" is that in the final analysis, it was the Danish and other European papers' faults for insulting the Muslim prophet.

This is only the latest example of finding the victims of Islamic violence responsible for that violence.

For a decade or more, it has been a given on the Left that Israel is to blame for terror committed against Israelis by Palestinian Muslims (Palestinian Christians don't engage in suicide terror). What else are the Palestinians supposed to do? If they had Apache helicopters, the argument goes, they would use them. But they don't, so they use the poor man's nuclear weapon: suicide terror.

The same argument is given to explain 9/11. Three thousand innocent Americans were incinerated by Islamic terrorists because America has been meddling in the Middle East so long. This was bound to happen. And, anyway, don't we support Israel?

And when Muslim terrorists blew up Madrid trains, killing 191 people and injuring 1,500 others, the Left in Spain and elsewhere blamed Spanish foreign policy. After all, the Spanish government had sent troops into Iraq.

When largely Muslim rioters burned and looted for a month in France, who was blamed? France, of course -- France doesn't know how to assimilate immigrants, and, as the BBC reported on Nov. 5, 2005, "[Interior Minister Nicolas] Sarkozy's much-quoted description of urban vandals as 'rabble' a few days before the riots began is said by many to have already created tension." Calling rabble "rabble" causes them to act like to rabble.

If you wish to test the thesis that the Left blames those blown up for being blown up by Muslim terrorists, have your son or daughter at college ask some liberal arts professors who is to blame for 9/11 or Muslim suicide bombers in Israel, etc.

In fact, one way to describe the moral divide between conservatives and leftists is whom they blame for acts of evil committed against innocent people, especially when committed by non-whites and non-Westerners. Conservatives blame the perpetrators, and leftists blame either the victims' group or the circumstances.

We Americans are used to this. For decades, leftists have blamed violent crime in America on racism and poverty, i.e., on American society far more than on the murderers, rapists, arsonists, and muggers themselves. Conservatives blame the criminals.

During the Rodney King riots in Los Angeles, black mobs murdered innocent Korean shopkeepers and burned sections of the city. The leftist response in America was virtually universal: We must understand the anger of these people at American racism. The daily special section on the riots in the major local newspaper, the Los Angeles Times, was titled, "Understanding the Rage."

Though Thomas Friedman, the New York Times foreign affairs correspondent, has been among the few prominent liberals to support the Iraq War, he regularly blames Islamic terror on unemployment in the Arab world.

Since examples of leftists refusing to blame criminals and terrorists for their behavior are legion, let's try to figure out why this moral inversion is so common.

Here are three hypotheses:

One is that leftists tend to blame outside forces for evil. This emanates from the secular humanistic view of people as basically good -- and therefore human evil must come not from the bad choices and bad values of the evildoer, but from the unfortunate socioeconomic and other circumstances of the person's life.

The second explanation is that as you go further left on the political spectrum, it becomes increasingly difficult to blame the "weak" for any atrocities they commit. The Left does not divide the world between good and evil nearly as much as it does between rich and poor, and between strong and weak. Israel is stronger and richer, so Palestinian terror is excused. White America is stronger and richer than black America, so black violence is excused. The West is stronger and richer than the Muslim world, so Muslim violence is explained accordingly.

And third, liberals tend to be afraid of the truly evil. That's why the leftist newspapers of America refused to publish the Danish cartoons, probably the most newsworthy cartoons ever drawn, but have never had any hesitance about showing cartoons and photos that mock Jewish and Christian symbols. Christians and Jews don't kill editors.

We don't know who will be the next target of Islamic or other murderers from poor or non-Western or non-white groups. All we can know is that liberal and leftist thought will find reasons to hold the targeted group largely responsible.

Freedom Gagged

by François Gautier

Ganga Sagar, located on the western edge of the Sunderban Delta in West Bengal, is for many Hindus a very renowned Place of Pilgrimage, because there the Ganga river has a confluence with the Bay of Bengal. At the edge of Sagar town - adjacent to the beach - is an ancient temple dedicated to Kapil Muni, the sage responsible for initiating the chain of events that ultimately resulted, according to the legend, to 'Mother Ganga' descending to the earth from heaven and giving mankind an opportunity to wash away its sins in her pure water. The earliest mention of this place is found in the Mahabharata where a sage explains to Bhishma the significance of taking a dip at the confluence of Gangasagar. Thus, millions of Hindu pilgrims visit this holy place all year round to take a dip in the Ganges, particularly during the Kumbha Mela and Makara Sankranti festivities.

Last Thursday, a Hindu social group, named the Hindu Sanghati, led by its National convener, Sri Tapan Kumar Ghosh, had started conducting there for 180 men, women and children, a three-day Yoga and meditation camp in a building close to the confluence owned by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad. After attending the first Yoga and meditation session in the morning, the group went to take a dip in the Ganga Sagar confluence, and thereafter to pay obeisance in the Kapil Muni shrine. On its way, the group chanted "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" and "Jai Sri Ram". This was enough to anger the local people, mostly immigrant Bangladeshi Muslims. Later in the day, led by Sheikh Ismail, who happens to be CPI(M)'s Panchayat Samiti seat winner in the area, about 3000 men reached the building were the pilgrims were put up, and started throwing gas cylinders and petrol bombs (Molotov cocktails) and kept on attacking incessantly for a few hours, till all 180 of the camp were trapped inside this burning camp along with Tapan Ghosh.

The local police-appeared to side more with the Muslims than the Hindus, maybe just out of plain fear, and only very small posse of 15 policemen was sent, totally inadequate for resisting such a huge armed mob. The police could not control the mob of Muslims even after firing several rounds.

As a result, quite a few Hindus attending the camp have been injured in the carnage, and at least 7 of them are in critical condition, apart from 2 others who could not be identified because of serious facial burn injuries. 2 policemen have also been seriously injured due to the assault by the Muslim mob. Apart from throwing petrol bombs to incinerate the camp building, the mob also attacked and seriously damaged some nearby houses of the local Hindus as well as an adjoining Kali temple and a 'Yatri Nivas' (Travellers' Lodge) run by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad.

In a travesty of justice, 15 of the pilgrims were arrested by the local police, and booked under Sections 147, 148, 149, 307, 310 and 323 of IPC (Indian Penal Code) for inciting "communal disharmony". Out of these 15, the organiser of the camp, Tapan Ghosh, and one other have been remanded 7 days' police custody in Kakdwip Thana (Police Station) in West Bengal and it is feared they will be tortured. A pilgrim who was injured in the clash, said: "We got beaten up only for chanting religious slogans; Jayanta Mukherjee, the SDPO of the area also abused us and arrested many of our members." Ironically, not even one of the attackers was arrested by the police.

It seems like a reverse logic: instead of punishing the attackers, you penalize the attacked! The communists, by allowing knowingly hundreds of thousands of Bangladeshis to settle in West Bengal, out of ideology (Muslims are our allies), but also for electoral purposes (they are furnished fake identity cards, so that they vote for them) have created a monster that will come back to haunt India, not only in Nandigram, but other places, such as Jaipur or Varanasi, though communists, once more have shown that they will side with Muslims if they attack Hindus.

One has to laud Nehru's concept of protecting the oppressed and the minorities, but is it not now going overboard, with the police seeming to side increasingly with minorities, at the expense of the majority community of India, the Hindus, who have been known throughout their history to be extremely tolerant and to accept diversity?

Is it a common pattern? Yes ! the same thing happened in Chennai when on the 7th March 2008, the Tamil Nadu police vandalized an exhibition on Aurangzeb and threw some paintings on the ground, shattering them. Yet it was an artistic exhibition on the great Moghol emperor using his own records and firmans (edicts), many of which are still preserved in Indian museums, such as the Bikaner archives. Aurangzeb was truly a pious Muslim, copying the Koran himself, stitching Muslim skullcaps and enforcing strict laws. Nevertheless, according to his own documents, he was a very ruthless and cruel emperor. Forget what he did to Hindus : re-imposing the humiliating jiziya tax, forbidding them from riding horses, elephants or palanquins and ordering all temples destroyed (Among them the Krishna's birth temple in Mathura, the rebuilt Somnath temple on the coast of Gujurat, the Vishnu temple replaced with the Alamgir mosque now overlooking Benares and the Treta-ka-Thakur temple in Ayodhya), he was also a monster to his own family, having his father poisoned, his two brothers killed, and imprisoning his own son.

The day before the Nawab of Arcot, local Muslim leader, had visited the exhibition and had been enraged by two miniatures -- the first depicted Aurangzeb's army destroying the Somnath temple and the second showed the destruction of the Kesava Rai temple in Mathura. Soon, the nawab sent a group of Muslims from TMMK (Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam) and MNP (Manitha Neethi Paasarai) to pick up arguments with the volunteers, most of them elderly women from decent family backgrounds. They came back again on 7th afternoon, screaming on top of their voices in Tamil and in English that this exhibition was absolutely false and that unless it was closed immediately they would come back in force tomorrow (Friday) to break it down. The volunteers tried to reason with them, that these were all documents from Government archives, that they could explain everything to them, that they could even debate on TV, but they shouted even louder and got more threatening. Then the police openly sided with the TMMK, vandalized the exhibition and closed it down.

This raises the question of what kind of freedom exists in India at the moment. We understand that without the support of the communists the present Government would collapse. But does that mean that the Congress leaders have to turn a blind eye to what the communists are doing to the social fabric of India and South Asia? There is such a thing as Karma. By allowing hundreds of Bangladeshis to settle in India, or having helped the Maoists to take over Nepal, or letting artistic freedom be gagged, these people, who soon will be out of power, will hand over to the next government extremely difficult situations to handle.

Operation of Disinformation War

BATTLE FOR THE MINDS OF MEN
By S.P. Attri ( USA)

1. Religious doctrines, dogmas, designs, and depictions in our time & nealy always in the past have been competitively presented & pursued particularly by the religions of exclusivity (Islam & Christianity). It is a fact of amazing stupor & stupefaction on the part of so many people of the religions of non-exclusivity, such as Hinduism, that this such a transparent & obvious fact of"competitiveness" has completely escaped their notice & speaks volumes for thetorpor, languor, and the passive attitude of the Hindus towards religion.

2. The recurrent competitiveness of religion really picked up steam after the emergence in the world of the religions of exclusivity (Christianity & Islam). These two religions immediately embarked upon a cut-throat competitive course through the usage of "word and sword" and the accounts of the carnage & the blood-soaked bigotry of these two religions through the centuries constitute an agonizing assemblage of historical record. The fact of reality is that these two religions have always viewed their religious engagement as a cut- throat business, as a total war and as a competitve battle for the minds of men. It does not make one bit of difference that in reality Christianity & Islam are not even religions at all, they are imperialistic ideologies disguised as religions because they are both ever & ever busy with endless efforts to snare as many people of the world into their "Imperialistic Religious Net" as they can. If they did not pursue this "Perpetually Inculcated Objective", they would have lost any rationale or reason for their continued existence and they would simply vanish & disappear into thin air. It is also worth observing that these two religions are the "Only Religions" that call themselves as the Religions Of Peace, no other religion gives itself this noble title. The title is patently false but provides a convenient subterfuge to conceal the Barbaric & Imperialistic face of both Christianity & Islam.

3. Both Christianity & Islam have been upgrading their imperialistic arts & arsenals of religious war with the passage of time. Guns have now largely replaced the sword & the usage of modern information media such as the newspapers, magazines, radio, TV, computers, and the Internet have become their new arsenal of religious war, arranged in battle array. They are spending lavishly on their new arsenals of religious war to present "The Stocks And Stones" of their creeds as "The Ultimate Truth." This vast effort is generally an "Operation Of Disinformation War" designed & demeaned to run down religions other than their own. Billions of dollars are being poured into this Disinformation War by the Moslems & the Christians & their agents are hard at work trying to present a bold front of the best image of their barbaric creeds. Words like the "Humanistic Side Of Islam" and "The Prince Of Peace, Jesus Christ" are used without abandon. Nobilitated words such as these of halo, blazing glory, & blushing honors come in real handy & seve as subtle subterfuges to conceal the real face of Islam & Christianity, a face barbaric & imperialistic to the core and bad to the bone. Through this convenient subterfuge art of preaching & proselytizing procedure, they are trying to Islamicize & Christianize the whole world.

This clever, contrived religious disinformation war of the religions of exclusivity (Islam & Christianity) inevitably carries with it a cargo of colossal damage to religious of non-exclusivity, such as Hinduism, which are being run down through terms of abuse & disgrace and they are aided & abetted in this unholy effort by the Western media which tend to portray religions like Hinduism as primitive. The Pseudo-Secular media of India & the pronouncements of the leftist press, who have never been accused of love for Hinduism, also do their damnest bit to do Hinduism in as a regressive force, as an impediment to the economic development of India.

4. The Western colonial masters are now gone from the Asian mainland but the Western media & their commercial enterprises are not; they have gotten a firm hold in Asia & they are trying to replace the native cultures & their basic beliefs. Islamic countries are alert to this challenge of the Western media & they have strictly limited the role of the Western media which they use only to project & stress the "Virtues Of Islam." Islamic countries completely shut out the Christian Missionaries. Period. Thus Western media & Christianity are kept completely out of Islamic countries.

5. The situation in India is totally different. Western media, Western commercial culture, & the Christian Missionaries have a field day in India. India has also been dominated by Marxist, Socialist, & Pseudo-Secular thinking for fifty plus years and they have regarded Hinduism as their "Enemy Number One." The net result is a convergence of the interests of Christian Missionaries, Islamic Jehadis, Indian Leftists, & Pseudo-Secular Hindus who have now ganged up collectively against Hinduism to do it in royally. The disinformation & pure perversion of their collective approach can be seen from their usage of words like "Theocratic Hindus, Fundamentalist Hindus, Communalist Hindus etc." Now, look who is using these words. You guessed it.

Those groups (Christians, Moslems, Communists, Leftists) whose ideology is Exclusivity & and Utterly Undemocratic. This disinformation war, besides misrepresenting Islam & Christianity, tends to seriously undermine Hinduism & they succeed in it because Hindus generally do not react to or challenge these imperialistic ideologies. The inevitable result is the enormous erosion of Hinduism & Hindu Culture wherever this pernicious propaganda plague appears. Falsehood has reached such a ludicrous point of perversion that communists who are Nazis by a different name are accusing Hindus of being Nazis. This unadulterated hostility of the Falsehood Manufacturers towards Hinduism continues. Falsehood is a potent weapon & repeated often enough, it begins to stick. Most people neither have the time nor the interest to ascertain facts & they swallow the falsehood in the form in which it is presented to them. In time, they become conditioned by the type of information that they have been fed by the Manufacturers of Falsehood. Simply put, Hinduism is being eroded by this multi-pronged attack, is being pushed in the corner, & stays under siege.

6. Hindu religion is much more than the worship of a deity or deities or an observance of a particular doctrine. Hinduism is a way of life, a method of thinking, conduct, & speech. It teaches values that inspire good deeds & it teaches us how to know the difference between right & wrong, between good & evil, between Dharma & Adharma. Hinduism has been tolerant to a fault. Other religions, especially the religions of exclusivity (Islam & Christianity) have taken advantage of their over-tolerance, benign neglect, & passivity. Hinduism has had a time-honored spirit of respect for other faiths but this attitude of respect has worked against its own interests.

Hinduism needs to extract itself from simple, passive tolerance. Tolerance lets lie the half-truths and the half-baked stereotypes that others hold about us Hindus as a result of the relentless anti-Hindu assaults from the Falsehood Manufacturers. We Hindus need to go beyond tolerance and enter into active Hinduism Defense engagement, with full involvement & commitment. This effort should not be considered as a mere chore. We have to fight in earnest the demoralizing minimalization of the Hindus & the warped depiction of Hinduism in the Western & the Pseudo-liberal Indian press & daringly challenge the anti-Hindu propaganda bull-horn of the falsehood manufacturers (Christian, Islamic, Marxist, & the recitations of the pseudo-liberal Hindus) against Hinduism.

7. Abrahamic Religions (Islam & Christianity) claim that their scriptures commission them to evangelize the whole world. We Hindus have been massacred, brutalised, disgraced, and assaulted as a result of their divine mission of proselytism Anyway, what is their special grouse against us Hindus? Answer: That we Hindus exist...along with our paraphernalia of polytheism, idolatry etc which they have sworn to decimate from the world. In reality, it is a desire on their part to grab political power in the crudest possible manner, in the disguise of religion. If anybody amongst them question their hate against polytheism & idolatry, they fly into a rage & retort, "Don't you know how evil & dangerous idolatry & polytheism are and that they are devil- inspired and that the practitioners of these devil-inspired rituals are on their way to hell. With stock phrases like these, they insult Hinduism in every possible way.

We Hindus need to remind the people of the Abrahamic religions of the simple rule of law that is taught in the first year tort classes: Your right to swing your arms freely ends at my nose. Standing by our beliefs & convictions, we need to put our foot down & assert that we Hindus are not going to accept the inferior & meek position that the falsehood manufacturers have designated for us Hindus.

8. We Hindus have been under the "aggressive ideological attack" of the religions of exclusivity (Islam & Christianity) for 1200 plus years. Ideological aggression is the first phase of war & if not adequately resisted, is invariably followed by the second phase of war, the actual physical conflict. If ideological phase is properly & effectively resisted in time, it serves notice on the aggressive adversary that he will be resisted and many times the second phase, the actual conflict, can be averted.

9. The inevitable question: What do we Hindus do? As an absolute minimum, we Hindus must create a new class of intelligentsia that can challenge media distortions in every area, in schools, in books, newspapers, and Internet. The Hindu intelligentsia class must debate issues & expose the distortions & false beliefs & face upto the challenges of the religions of exclusivity, warning others about the dangers posed by the exclusivity religious creeds. Hinduism must come out of its "Other Worldliness" and the veil of its spirituality and must not allow the forces of Adharma to take over the world. Hindus need to come off their lethargic attitude & actively work for Hinduism Defense & the defense of Hindu Dharma. We must foster Hindu solidarity as a unity in diversity amongst all Hindu sects & lineages. We must dispel myths, illusions, & misinformation about Hinduism. It is about time that we Hindus fight back to protect our great religion & cultural heritage, in the true Kashatriya spirit, in the defense of Hindu Dharma. 9. There is no truth whatsoever in the statement often expressed by some that Kashatriya Hinduism will promote Hindu Fundamentalism or Hindu Nazism. Kashatriya Hindus have always fought for the protection of Dharma, never for aggression, have never resorted to forcible conversion of people of other religions ( as the Abrahamic religions have been routinely doing for centuries) but have always fought for upholding Dharma. It is time for Kashatriya Hindus to rise up again. Upon the buoyant ascent of the Kashatriya Hindus depends not only the survival & the future of Hinduism but the survival of Dharma itself in this generally Adharmic world.

Nataraja Statue Banned from Malaysian Bharatanatyam Dance Performance

13/06/2008 13:34:28
malaysia-today.net

IPOH, MALAYSIA, : At the beginning of every Bharatanatyam performance, artistes of this famous South Indian classical dance pay obeisance on stage to a statue of Lord Nataraja. However, on Monday night, a group of Bharatanatyam dancers performed before a full gallery at the Taman Budaya public auditorium without the customary on-stage prayer to Lord Nataraja. This was because the owner of the venue, the state Unity, Culture, Arts and Heritage Department, permitted the dance on condition they did not install a statue or portrait of the deity and offer their prayers on stage. This is not the first time that dancers from the three Bharatanatyam schools of Nrityakalanjali, Natyakalamandir and Anandanarthana Choodamani in the state had performed at the venue. The department said the organizers were informed beforehand of the conditions and chose to go ahead with the performance.

The department’s public relations officer, Shaliza Azlin, said the organizers had agreed that the prayers would be performed backstage to respect the sensitivities of the audience, who also comprised Chinese and Malays. “We did not stop them from doing the puja. We did not want them to do it in public.”

Shaliza said the same conditions had been imposed on other cultural groups. Perak state assembly speaker V. Sivakumar, who was at the performance, said: “The prayer is very much part of the cultural performance and should have been allowed on the stage.” He said he would bring the matter up with the state government as well as his party so that such “intolerant behavior” could be nipped in the bud before it became widespread.

P.S. - If Hindus can't do Puja in public in a Muslim Majority Country ,why do Mullahs scream "Allah-o-Akbar" in public and over loud speakers causing nuisance and sound pollution in Muslim Minority Countries like India?

Hindu leaders arrested after attack by 6,000 strong Muslim mob in West Bengal

The Friends of Hindu Samhati, USA unequivocally condemns today's gruesome attack on the Hindu Samhati training camp at Ganga Sagar (West Bengal) by a murderous mob of local Muslims, at least 6000-7000 strong, starting Thursday (June 12, 2008).

Ganga Sagar is a very reknowned Hindu Tirtha Kshetra (Place of Pilgrimage) where the sacred Ganga River has a confluence with the Bay of Bengal. Ganga Sagar is located on the western edge of the Sunderban Delta on Sagar Island. At the edge of Sagar town - adjacent to the beach - is the ancient temple dedicated to Kapil Muni, the sage responsible for initiating the chain of events that ultimately resulted in Mother Ganga descending to the earth from heaven and giving mankind an opportunity to wash away its sins in her pure water. The earliest mention of this sacred place is found in the Mahabharata where a learned sage explains to Bhishma the significance of taking a dip at the confluence of Ganga Sagar. Millions of Hindu pilgrims visit this holy place all year round to take a dip in the ho,y Ganges, particularly during the Kumbha Mela and Makara Sankranti festivities.

Since this morning (Thursday, 12 June, 2008), Hindu Samhati had started conducting a training camp and workshop on the current socio-political scenario to 180 men, women and children in the peaceful and serene surroundings of Ganga Sagar.

Sri Tapan Kumar Ghosh, the National Convenor of Hindu Samhati is conducting the main sessions of this camp. Other eminent people and local notables are also present. Everything went on smoothly until this evening, when suddenly the camp building was surrounded by a murderous mob of about 6000-7000 local Muslims bent on mayhem. The Muslim attackers were well-prepared and have been throwing gas cylinders and petrol bombs (molotov cocktails) and kept on attacking incessantly for a few hours, to incinerate the whole camp. The entire camp building has been reduced to ashes. All 180 of our camp attendees (a large number of them women and children) and 15 policemen are trapped inside this burning camp along with our dear leader Sri Tapan Kumar Ghosh.

Already 14-15 attendees of the camp have been injured in the carnage, and at least 7 of them are in very critical condition and are not expected to survive. The names of the critically wounded include: Subodh Kundu, Bivas Mondal, Gopinath Biswas, Prasenjit Sardar and Gautam Halder, apart from 2 others that could not be identified because of serious facial burn injuries.

Nine camp attendees are still missing and may have been kidnapped by the Muslim mob. Their names are: Gautam Mondal, Kartick Biswas, Ram Shil, Palash Roy, Gopal Dolui, Piyush Senapati, Ashok Das, Shankar Nandi and Subhash Roy. We are very apprehensive about their well being.

The local police-station (Thana) has unfortunately sent in a small posse of 15 policemen who are totally inadequate for resisting such a huge Jehadi mob armed to the teeth. The police could not control the mob of Muslims even after firing several rounds.

As of Friday morning (June 13, 2008), as per the recent information received by us, the assault by the Muslim mob at Hindu Samhati campsite in Gangasagar is still on, although the intensity has abated a little bit. Some more police force has reached the trouble spot, though the large force required to subdue a mob of this size and temperament is nowhere in sight. A recent update by phone from the camp is that along with the 14-15 attendees who were injured, 2 policemen have also been seriously injured due to the assault by the Muslim mob. Scores of other attendees to the camp has sustained minor injuries in this most cowardly assault including the National Convener of Hindu Samhati, Sri Tapan Kumar Ghosh. Thankfully his injuries are not serious.

Apart from throwing petrol bombs to incinerate the camp building, the Muslim mob also tried to breach the wall by exploding cooking gas cylinders against it. Failing to break into the camp, the rampaging Muslim mob has attacked and seriously damaged some nearby houses of the local Hindus. They have also seriously damaged and set fire to an adjoining Kali temple and a 'Yatri Nivas' (Travellers' Lodge) run by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad. The fireball attacks have slightly abated but the vicious threats and stone pelting continues – all attuned to the collective chants of both 'naara-e-takbir, allahu akbar' (allah is the Greatest) and 'inquilab zindabad' (Long Live the Revolution).

Sagar island at the Ganga Sagar – the confluence of the Ganga and the Bay of Bengal – is one of the holiest pilgrimages of India, where millions of Hindus from all over India and the world gather during the 'Makar Sankranti' (Winter Solstice) for the 'Punya Snan' (Holy Bath) every year. If a peaceful Hindu gathering can be assaulted with such viciousness and impunity in one of the most sacred Hindu sites of pilgrimage, one shudders to think what lies in store for the Hindus of West Bengal a few years hence.

In a travesty of justice, instead of arresting the attackers, the Police in West Bengal have slapped a non-bailable arrest warrant against Sri Tapan Kumar Ghosh and 15 Hindu Samhati activists. The concocted charges against them are listed as being: "Incitement and Instigation for Rioting" and "Disruption of Communal Harmony".

As per the latest news received from the ground, Sri Tapan Kumar Ghosh and 15 Hindu Samhati activists have been framed and arrested for inciting communal disharmony by Kakdwip Thana (Police Station) in West Bengal.

1) The Friends of Hindu Samhati, USA strongly protests this outrageous attack on a peaceful, indoor religious function that was held behind closed doors. There was no provocation for this vicious assault nor was any outdoor procession held at the location. It is pitiable that the police could not provide security to its peace loving citizens and is instead insisting on closing the camp down.

2) We strongly urge the police and the local administration to arrest all the perpetrators of this heinous crime immediately and provide security to continue the camp at a nearby, alternate location.

3) We deeply deplore the travesty of justice in West Bengal and appeal to the police and the local administration to remove the framed charges and release Sri Tapan Kumar Ghosh and 15 Hindu Samhati activists immediately.

4) We request all friends and readers in India and abroad to call up the Indian administration to inquire about this incident. At least, they will know that people still care about justice and peace in India. The Numbers to Call are:

a) District Magistrate, South 24 Parganas
Phone: 033-24793713
